§ 30-151. Scope and purpose.

  • (a)

    These procedures are adopted by the city council pursuant to of the V.T.C.A., Transportation Code Subch. 683, and its police powers to protect the health, safety and welfare of its citizens as amended.

    (b)

    These procedures do not affect the authority of a peace officer to authorize the immediate removal, as an obstruction to traffic, of a motor vehicle left on public property.

    (c)

    All procedures under this article shall be administered by employees of the city, except that the removal of a motor vehicle or part of a motor vehicle from property may be by any duly authorized person.

    (d)

    The city manager shall be authorized to take immediate action during emergency situations. The city manager will be responsible to report all such actions taken to the city council at the first scheduled meeting after such action.
