§ 42-39. Collection fees.

Latest version.
  • (a)

The charges for the collection and disposal of garbage and trash by the city shall be as provided in the city fee schedule. Garbage collection charges are due and payable monthly on the same schedule as other city utilities. Garbage collection charges shall appear as a separate item on city utility bills; however, the city will not accept payment for garbage collection unless the entire bill, including water, gas, and sewer services, is paid in full.

    (b)

Garbage collection fees are assessed against the person in whose name the water meter is assessed, whether or not said meter is owned by the city. In the event the consumer receiving the garbage collection services is not connected to the water of the city, the garbage collection charges shall be assessed in the name of the consumer for whom such garbage collection services were rendered.
