§ 52-122. Water service agreements.

Latest version.
  • (a)

The city is responsible for protecting the drinking water supply from contamination or pollution which could result from improper private water distribution system construction or configuration. The purposes of this requirement for service agreements is to provide protection against cross contamination of the city's water supply, as provided in this article, and to ensure that each customer is notified of the restrictions upon which his water service is conditioned. The city enforces the restrictions detailed in the service agreement to ensure the public health and welfare.

    (b)

Each customer must sign a service agreement in the form approved from time to time by the city council as a condition of obtaining water service from the city. In addition, when service to an existing connection has been suspended or terminated, the water system will not reestablish service unless it has a signed copy of this agreement.
