§ 54-261. General requirements.

  • The following number of off-street parking spaces must be provided:

    (1)

    For single-family and two-family dwellings, one space for each living unit in the building.

    (2)

    For multiple dwellings and apartment hotels, 1½ spaces for each living unit.

    (3)

    For hotels, one space for each guestroom or suite of the first 20 individual guestrooms or suites; one additional parking space for each two guestrooms or suites in excess of 20 and not exceeding 40; one additional space for each four guestrooms or suites in excess of 40; plus one additional space for each four patron seats in rooms open to the nonresident public; plus one space for each 200 square feet of display or ballroom area.

    (4)

    For motels, one space for each bedroom unit, plus one additional space for each four patron seats of facilities open to the nonresident public, plus one space for each 200 square feet of display area or ballroom area.

    (5)

    For lodginghouses, one space for each two rental rooms.

    (6)

    For places of public assembly, including auditoriums and theaters, one space for each four seats provided.

    (7)

    For elementary and junior high schools, two spaces for each classroom; for senior high schools, seven spaces for each classroom.

    (8)

    For hospitals, one space for each hospital bed.

    (9)

    For institutions, clubs, lodges, and public buildings, one space for each 500 square feet of floor space.

    (10)

    For all uses except those specified in subsections (1)—(9) of this section when located in the C-1 or C-2 district, one space for each 200 square feet of floor space.

    (11)

    For commercial uses in the M district, one space for each two employees of maximum number employed at any one time.
