§ 8-189. Tags to be attached to collar; display of tag upon demand; replacement tags.

(a)

The dog or cat registration tag shall be attached to a neck collar and be worn by the animal at all times. No person shall fail or refuse to show to the animal control officer or any police officer of said city the dog or cat tag for any dog or cat kept or remaining within any home or upon any enclosed premises under his immediate control.

(b)

If a tag is lost, it shall be the responsibility of the owner to replace the tag as soon as possible in order to return to compliance of this section. Replacement tags may be obtained from the city secretary upon application therefor and payment of a tag replacement fee in the amount provided in the city fee schedule.
