§ 8-313. Exceptions.

  • (a)

    Nothing in this article shall be construed to apply to the temporary display of wild or vicious animals or reptiles in carnivals, zoos, museums, exhibitions, or circuses provided that prior city council approval has been obtained for such a display and that such animals or reptiles are so restricted so as to pose no threat to the public safety and provided further that such animals so displayed will be well cared for, free from disease and kept in sanitary conditions.

    (b)

    The requirements of this article shall not be applicable to persons transporting wild or vicious animals through the city, providing that the transporter has taken adequate safeguards to protect the public and does not park the transporting vehicle within the city limits.
