§ 28-5. Special use recreational vehicle park and recreational vehicle spaces within city limits.

  • A special use permit may be issued for recreational vehicle parks within the city limits as follows:

    (1)

    A recreational vehicle park shall maintain a minimum space width of 20 feet with a total space area of at least 1,000 square feet.

    (2)

    Minimum 2½ acreage requirements for recreational vehicle parks and all other requirements of this chapter shall be satisfied prior to site plan approval.

    (3)

    Site plans may contain a limited number of spaces designed to accommodate overnight or short-term rentals in recreational vehicle parks notwithstanding the requirements of this chapter. The total number of such spaces shall not exceed 50 percent of the number of conventionally sized spaces within the park. The minimum size for overnight and short-term use shall be 1,000 square feet. The minimum space width for such spaces shall be 30 feet.

    (4)

    Recreational vehicle parks are a permitted use only in R-2, C-1 and C-2 zones within the corporate limits of the city, and are allowed by special use permit.
